Cathedral City

Cathedral City, also called "Cat City", is a beautiful resort city just 13 miles from Palm Desert and 6.5 miles from Palm Springs. It has the second largest population (nearing 52,000) of cities in the Coachella Valley, following behind Indio. Previously inhabited by the Cahuilla Indians, some of the city is still on reservation land.

Employment

The main industry of Cathedral City is tourism. In addition to the city's popular golf courses, there are many resorts and hotel establishments, as well as restaurants and shopping centers.

Cannabis sales are increasing in the city, with eight dispensaries and more coming soon.

Additionally, the Cathedral City Auto Center is another heavy hitting employer with ten dealerships and sixteen brands of automotives.

• Take in a concert or other event at the newly constructed Cathedral City Ampitheater.
• Stroll through an exhibit at the Cathedral City Library.
• Watch a baseball game or other community event at Patriot Park.

Upcoming Fall Community Events

• Fields of Valor at Patriot Park will be held November 5th, 11th and 12th. It is a tribute to fallen men and women who sacrificed for our country's freedom.
• Hot Air Balloon Festival at Agua Caliente Casinos will be held November 18th - 20th. This festival will include an artisan market, live music and tethered hot balloon rides.
