While we are all home right now, were probably cleaning, organizing, and decluttering but here are seven places in your home you may have missed.
#1. The garage toolbox.
You might have remembered to clean out the garage or you might be organizing and sweeping, but that toolbox probably needs some going through. Take some time and lay out all of the tools, donate or dispose of any multiples of the same item that you know you won't need and organize the drawers by tool type such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
#2. Cleaning products.
If you're like me, you've probably been digging out cleaning products you've had for several years because you can't seem to find them in the grocery stores anymore. Now is a good time to organize, clear out, and combine similar products if it's safe enough to do so. All of these can be under sinks in the bathrooms or in the kitchen or even the laundry room. Put them all in little tubs and make sure they're organized and labeled to prevent any toxic issues.
#3. Holiday decorations.
Now is a great time to organize all of your holiday decorations. I know, the best way to do this is when you are putting them all away for the season, but I'm not as diligent because when I want them away… I just want them away. Now is a great time to go through them, organize and label any boxes, especially if you have a decorations from different seasons.
#4. Cosmetics.
Similar to cleaning products, we've probably had a few cosmetics in our cupboards for years that are just not effective anymore and could actually be toxic to our skin. It's time to go through, dump everything that you just don't use, don't like, or haven't used in the last six months.
#5. Jewelry.
Take the time to go through jewelry boxes and drawers, and anywhere else you might keep jewelry and make a collection of jewelry that you'll want to donate or have appraised. Collecting gold right now will be a great way to get a little extra cash.
#6. Boats and/or RV.
If you have a boat and/or an RV, now's a good time to clean them up, go through them, dump any old items or outdated food supply and start fresh when our state parks and lakes open back up again.
#7. Email.
Yes, I said it… It's time to go through your email and clear that box out. If you are nervous about deleting emails, start putting them into folders so that you know you can refer back to an email if necessary but it's not clogging up your inbox.
I don't know about you but I've cleaned just about everything in my house, and now it's time to start on these little details that are more out of sight out of mind.
